Rear caliper clearance - help please!

Post by Janspeedcapri »

Hi guys - longtime no see - I actualy forgot I was a member here and my username lol had to look meself up in the memberlist  aanyway, bit of background to the question.

I plan on joining Caprisport and getting the Brembo front / cosworth rear conversions.

Ive got 15" split rims on order with Image wheels but ive put a hold on them making them till Ive comfirmed what room the calipers need.

I don't want to alow more room than needed as it will reduce the width of the outer rim.
The Brembos will take 30mm off the front outer rim which is o.k looking on the front but I want the rears to look as deep as possible

SO I need to know exactly how much the rear sierra cosworth calipers stick out past the mounting face on the disc.

I have asked caprisport via email but they didn't have the exact dimensions to hand so I wondered if any owners of the kit might check it quicly? ...would realy help me get this sorted

A trip to Caprisport eh? what are you doing to it now Tony?
Cheers mate

btw - your car always had a 2.0 servo I guess... are you running the landrover master cylinder?

...I got a 2.0 servo off the bay the other day but I'm sure its not in very good nick... you can barely push the thing back and forth. its very notchy and seizes/binds up, so thats shagged right? I realy am at a loss with finding a 20 plus year old servo in good condition :)

edit - just bought another 2.0 servo  ...and asked for a return/refund for the other.
I got seller to check the action on this latest one and it says its stiff... (good spring/diaphram?)
but free and smooth and returns without fault so fingers crossed :)

FACT - the caliper protrudes 10mm beyond the mounting face of the disc between 100 and 150mm (from wheel centre, along the radius)

SOURCE - Neil at Caprisport :)
