Hi,
Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but i need to get a set of bushes for my anti roll bar and i've noticed the come in various sizes like 19mm, 24mm.
Question is what is this measurement?
Is it the with of the bush or the hole in the center?

Any help?

Cheers

Its the size of the hole in the middle :D It will probably be slitghtly smaller so as 2 make it a tight fit.

saying nowt

if its a 2.8 or late laser anti roll bar (has a dog leg in the bar near the bar/body mounting point) it will be the 24mm one.

Cheers thev8kid :o

It's a 1980 1.6 so it might be the 19mm.
Have to check it out today.

Hi,
So i finally got a set of poly bushes for the capri. But when i went to fit them the outside of the bush was too small for the bracket even though the center hole was correct for the bar.
I thought all the bushes had the same outer dimentions.
Anyone know if this is true?

Cheers :(

I took a lot of advice but ended up buying a cheap vernier caliper(<£15) in the end. You'll be able to take inside and outside dimensions of exixsting mounts/bar etc. V8 kid is right about the 24mm for the laser though cos i have them on mine.

hate to drag up such an old tread, but what was the outcome of this problem, as ive just polybushed mine and have the same.

I was going to just try and make a new mounting bracket, would this be suitable?

The width of the anti-roll bar outer clamp does vary depends what model/year of Capri early Capri?s tend to have a smaller diameter clamp if you can get one off a mk1 Capri that may fit. :o
I had a similar problem after fitting a later 2.8 roll bar to a mk1 the outer clamp was to small got round it by fitting 2.8 bar/body mounting point also .this set up I believe will work on all capris. Just remember to order the 24mm bush.
Remember when you have removed the old rubber bush from the anti roll bar (TCA end )there is still a metal bush on the roll bar the.

Hi there,
I haven't been on the website for a while now but i noticed that an old post was brought back up.
The outcome was I just left the old ones on and the car hasn't been out much since then.I was out of the country for a while.
I'm still on the look out for the correct bushes.
And the capri will be back out in force from tomorrow.
But OLD SKOOL KID's idea seems like a good one.
