Fitting non Capri Wheels
I'm uncertain of the offset of the Escort Cosworth alloys as to whether they are fwd or rwd offset. But the easiest way is to put your car on axles stands at running height and offer the wheel up - then stick a rule through the wheel and literally measure the distance. Thats obviously the size of spacer you need! However, make sure you use spacers that bolt to the hub, then that the wheel bolts to. Do not use longer wheel bolts and ali spacers for anything more than 10mm as you will loose the central location of the wheels.
Oh, and make sure you do the front and backs seperately as you can get more width in the front to match the rear and it helps with the handling!
If I get time I'll find some pics of my Zackspeed280 with mondeo 17in wheels. Don't forget that if you use the Caprisport 260 or 280 kit you automtically add 10mm to each side with the disc!!!

Capri 2.8 (A) Tickford replica in build with 280 interior/wheels and original bodykit.
Capri 280 (E) 24V Supercharged Conversion in progress with nearly new shell.
All the parts, not enough time, not nearly enough garages so selling parts slowly!

The answer to the original question is -
Yes Escort Cosworth wheels fit fine.
If you have brakes that work (outboad mounted discs adding 8mm) then a 4 - 6 mm spacer will sort the front out.
As mentioned, the centre location is an issue.
The back is fine assuming rear discs adding 8 mm - should be ok with drums
Wheels are 8 x 16 with off set of 25 - perfect for the new Brembo 315 kit

Just some of what we do
Hang on a minute? I didn't think you could fit 8 inch wide wheels under standard arches? I'm only asking because I'm in the wheel market as it were and have been aiming for 15x7 because i thought taller was a problem too??
Please let me know what will fit under a standard mk3 as it would open up alot more wheels!!
thanks

Why should Escorts be more competitive than Capris? come on, give the 'scorts something to think about
Think the picture speaks for it's self?
Brembo 300 front brakes so discs on outside of hubs and additional
10mm spacer.
Rear is Cosworth vented disc system also with 10mm spacers.
Wheels are Escort Cosworth 8x16 with 225-40 Toyo Proxes T1-R
Grip is absolutely imense.
Car is super-light spec with eveything none essential gone.
Has coilovers with 300 lb springs, 3.44 LSD etc, adjustable r/j tca's, Ford
Motor Sport quick shift on solid cradle - extra tall on Hybrid MT 75
Full cage - seats - aero harnesses etc
over 6 grand done and still needs paint
Just some of what we do

and goes like a foooooooking rocket,
im honered to of been part of the caprisport team, (Jon and Neil), in the building of the above car, what fun we had, more so the deadlines that had to be met.
If finances were a bit kinder to me i would be tempted to buy the above car or build one myself.

I think that some good wheels and rims would be the key on that one. I hope that by now you would be able to find that part for that one. Hope all is well with you and your vehicle.
