GTR 260

Post by IanD »

Ok I've had a brain fart and can't remember what the discs are, for the Caprisport GTR 260 kit.

Sierra XR4i or Escort MK III XR3i, I know there 260x24 mm.

Use EBC D216

That's what we use.

Is it possible to use an Alloy 4 pot caliper with this conversion rather than the single pot Granada items? I have 8 x 13 Minilites and want to get an upgrade inside the 13s, but would prefer a light 4 pot if possible

You could spend far to much money on some mickey mouse Willwood or hi-spec rubbish and if you don't know any better, you might be happy.

If you want brakes that realy do work in a 13" wheel, there is only one design.
Buy fake copies or genuine, the important thing is moving the disc to the outside of the hub. The caliper is not that important in the big picture unless you're a fashion victim.

If you want to enjoy a Capri with 200+ horses properly, you need 15" wheels and discs all round.
There are just too many people on our roads that should not be allowed out un-supervised.

Thanks for that.

I am toying with the idea of the 15" Brookland wheels, but am quite keen to keep it on the 13s as I think they suit the period of the car (it came on the Pepper pots which were swopped when new to 8 x 13 Revolution Competitions, and now the Minilites)

I'll be in touch for your GTR260 kit (I already have a new Granada Master Cylinder [23.8]) ready to go on. Perhaps I could do the rear conversion at the same time.

I have sent in my member App, so will email re kit etc tomorrow (off to collect the refurb'd fuel tank first thing in the morning)

Cheers

If you go to rear discs, you need the 25mm cylinder and I'm guessing, a 2 litre servo.
