wheel size info needed please.

Post by retroglam73 »

im thinkin of treatin the capri to some new revolites, what size wheels and tyres should i be looking for , im unsure about lowering the car so i dont want them to look silly if they are low profile tyres, also i obvioulsy dont want them catching anywhere if theyre too wide..
so all in all im looking just to replace the wheels without doing any mods.

7x15 is the realistic choice.

off-set should be as close to 5 as you can get.

tyre size 205-50

ok so just to clarify.... thats 205 50/13 tyres yeah? thats pretty low profile? wouldnt that
look daft if i dont lower the car? would it leave a huge gap between the tyres and arches? if i need to lower it how much would you reccomend? 1 inch? 2 inch?

thanks for helping.

Yes I would reccomend 13" tyres for 15" wheels abviously.

Do you see 13" in the post anywhere?

No didn't think so.

I've got 205-60-13's on Revolutions and it sits ok. However the nearside just catches with a bit of weight on board, probably just a weak spring! I personally would prefer 15inch Minilites with 195-50-15 tyres but I've just brought mine, the Revolutions came with the car and had never been on the road before last week! They actually look better than I thought they would.

My mate has just moved down from Brid to Lincoln, his dad has seen your car out and about, some time in the next few weeks I should be bringing him up to fetch his motorbike, if i'm in the Capri i'll give you a message and you can see what it looks like on Revolutions with these tyres. Mine is also yellow.
