hiya guys, my first post so dont flame me to much
i am currently rebuild a xr4i 2.0lt dohc engine and was looking for something rwd to put it in. im not to keen on the sierra but the capris are so cool. anyway getting to the point. would my 2.0lt go in a capri ? if so what sort of work would be involved? would i need new gear box, wiring loom? also would this be a worth while swap?
thanks very much

If you want a daily driver the 8V twinks is a real nice motor :D but!
there's not much in the way of tuing products for em bar some cams, cone filter and a tubular Ex manifold :(
Or turbo it 8)
Engine mounts will need making and if you want to use the type 9 5 speed with the twinks very thick flywheel you'll need a sierra/P100 diesel (1.8d type 9) bellhousing as these are deeper and a V6 box not sure on what clutch goes with this but i can check if you require ?? (personly i wouldn't use the compleat diesel box as the ratio's arn't really suited to a petrol engine) not sure if the pinto flywheel bolts to the twinks crank?
Or you can use the MT75 box which will need a Xmember manufacturing and a propshaft made with a sliding joint in it and i beleive tunnel mods?

Well worth a read :)

oh dear lord, lol. i dont want a daily driver, im 15 and its a project for 2007 :D. so how much do you think its would cost? if i used the type 9 5speed. because custom made crossmember and prop sounds expensive to me, also how would i make engine mounts ? couldnt i just use the xr4i mounts because they are already on the engine ? im also thinking about making itb's for it so extra mods dont realy bother me because i wont be turbo/supercharging it. so as for the loom id guess at using modding the xr4i to fit the 2.0 pinto capri ?
i can check if you require ??
could you please

thanks

Sierra/granada and capri mounts are totaly different, the easyest loom will be from a granada as they are self contained, IE have all the relays in one sub-loom so no sodding about with relays and stuff :D
I'll ask on the clutch for ya :)
