A post metal worm

Hello to all and happy new year.
After much cosmetic surgery the underside of my capri is finished
and detailed to a point.
I have tried most available sources for repair a pillars and there is either a waiting list or the part is no longer available.
Where the bottom of the windscreen pillar meets the top of the a pillar
there is a factory folded join which forms a drip over the top of the door
(when closed) and mine has started to force itself apart.
i was considering chopping a good section out of another car and letting it in.
Has any member acheived this before or is there another route to take.
as the bottom of the a post is easy to fabricate and the top is a diferent
story.
