Fibreglass Wings

Post by cavebloke » Fri Apr 06, 2007 9:28 pm

I've seen fibreglass front wings for sale but it seems like the the front wings might give strength to the front of the monocoque. Would fitting them reduce front end rigidty? I like the idea of the weight reduction but not if it's at the cost of handling. My front wings are a little corroded but could easily be patched.

Hi, sounds like you may need to remove your wings to carry out a proper repair of your sills. Fibreglass wings are fine but you would probly benifit from fitting a strut brace just to add rigidity.
