Battery tray and Rad Mounts

Post by cavebloke »

Hi Guys,
I'm currently trying to shoehorn a 3.9V8 into the front of my capri. I'm thinking I'll put the battery in the boot. The battery tray looks like it's been spot welded in. Is that right? and is the best method of removal just to drill out the welds?
Also the V8 really needs a larger rad than my 1.6GL had so I want to remove the rad mounts to fit a larger one in. Are they structural and will their removal lead to lost of front end slack?
Many thanks,

Simon

Drill out the spot welds and remove no problem.

The rad mounting pannels are not structural.

Look at www.caprisport.com - 24V or 2.9efi pages to see how to mod the front pannel.
