Post by Stuball »

This is my 1983 2.8 Capri, got it in March 2006.

Few mods:

2" Bore stainless exhaust system, single silencer each side with tubular manifolds and 3" tailpipes

Engine converted to run on carburettor

Momo Steering wheel and gear knob

New Rev counter

Blimey, been a while since i update this.

Last winter i stripped and rebuilt a 3.5 rover v8 engine to go into my capri, and fitted it march this year.

what a lovely understated straight looking capri...what was the performance like running the cologne on a carb, compared to injection??

The v8 looks good as well!!!

Cheers for the comments.

When I had the 2.8 on carb, it was the same bhp/torque as the injection system (had an RR session in both forms). The power delivery was much better in my opinion, gave the engine more low down grunt with the carb, and seemed to rev a bit free-er.
