had another good day on the car today with Caprisports help,
things are going together fast,
ecu bracket spacers bolted through the floor and carpet trimmed to go over the spacers.
Starting of the rewire of the ecu relays and fusebox,
Finished, now comes the wiring job from the fusebox and relays back to the ecu,
Also Caprisport made a start on the suspension upgrade:
Front end:
Old strut removed, and new coil over inserted, with 300lb springs,
The HUGE 315mm Caprisport front discs refitted.
Now the Brembo calipers are refitted,
Alloy spherical adjustable top mounts are also fitted,
And sat back down on all 4, we have decided it can go another inch lower on the front still,
More next weekend guys

Right had another good weekend on the car,
finished off the wiring and installing the ecu,
ignore the masking tape on the relay bases, forgot the name tag printer, so could not change it to pucker printed lables today.
then came crunch time best i had test the system,
plugged laptop in opened MT and nothing,
tried the com port settings and still nothing,
saw the jack plug wires had crossed and looked to be shorting out bent theses outwards a bit then,
the ecu talked to the lap top PHEW
SO now the ecu seemed to be ok,
time to start on the exhaust,
The guys at caprisport went into hyper mode on the exhaust,
after stripping my old system down we came to the joint decision the boxes were fooked,
BUT they had a new system on the shelf for a customer which i now own (i paid for)
after sorting the new exhaust the down pipes had to be removed from the manifolds (hit the floor now engine and box sit differently)
Manifold on block with downpipes tacked in.,
Exhaust pipes removed from box inlets and the middle pipes from my old system tacked in place to run the exhaust close together in tunnel,
and up near the down pipe the start of the 'X' pipe.
And after the downpipe interlink pipes have been tacked in place.
And how it looks all tacked up from the front of the car,
also have wired up the fuelpump and that works from the ecu also,

Another busy busy day, (sunday)
i think the guys at caprisport are working harder and longer hrs to get rid of me and the car
well Neil and Jon today completed the exhaust system,
I got rid of the masking tape on the relay holders after numerous PM's saying it looks bad
The center console has been fitted for last time along with new shortened gearstick and new Knob. (no not me)
The new O/E knock sensor studs from land rover arrived and we fitted them along with the correct knock sensors this time
the new handbrake set up for the rear discks got fitted today,
the propshaft has now been fitted too,
the cable clutch components were fitted today and tested, (working sweet)
Reversing lights all wired up back to the gear box switch,
so a good day again today,
its looking mighty close to fire up time next weekend.
Oh and before i forget the reason i needed a new exhaust (not in the budget) would you say it fooked?

Sorry its late guys but only been home a couple of hrs,
been a long day on the car today,
the water system is now sorted,
the bottom and top hose bends have come back from the engineers after having the water bypass pipes tig welded in,
with alternator etc back in place,
Coilpacks are finally fitted and wired up, YEEEEEEAH
Plenum and fuel reg are fitted and plumbed in,
master cylinder is bolted up to servo now and the start of fitting the braided brake lines to it have started.
fuel line is all fixed inplace now and return hose fitted too.
was handy as there were a few points on the rad header tank bracket where the two fuel lines could be 'P' clipped too
manifolds are bolted back onto the block too,
at this rate she aint going to be far off being ready for a fire up by Monday night.

had a funny sort of day, didnt get half the things done i wanted to, but tied up a few loose ends,
servo and master cylinder with hoses on, and fuel reg mounted and plumbed in, and we have a working throttle pedal,
Nitrous fuel pulsoid wired up and plumbed into the main fuel line,
and header tank for radiator fitted and plumbed in,
waterpipes to and from rad,
The complete cooling system is now 100% plumbed in.
the complete fuel system is 100% finished,
the oil system is now 100% finished,
the powersteering pump is plumbed in now back to the PS bottle,
tomorrow (Bank hol monday)
Fitting the new exhaust system,
fitting the new rear shocks,
hoping to be filling her up with oil also, and going to try and turn her over on the key to prime the oil system,
and if im brave i may attempt a fire up
but need to make sure the ecu settings and firmware are correct first,

what a nightmare of a day
filled the rad up with water and anti freeze, no leaks sweeeeeet,
came back 15mins later and a small pool of water under both lower corners of the rad on the floor,
shit! looks like the rad is either leaking due to age or the seals on the end tanks have gone dry, im hoping once the car is running and up to temp they reseal, if not new rad needed
So next on the list, fit the exhaust,
this went together real sweet and didnt take long,
so next on the list,
oil...
filled the sump up, filled oilcooler up and the filter,.
connected the battery and she spun over , man that new starter is an animal,
no oil pressure on the gauge after a minute of cranking,
mmmmmmm,
removed the oil pressure gauge fitting and back fed oil into the pump, turned key still no oil pressure,
now the arse is starting to tighten, WTF have i done wrong?
was starting to wonder if i had used the correct timing cover gasket.
SO last resort removed the O/E oil cooler bung next to the sump under the timing cover used a fitting and a length of hose into the bung hole, lifted the end of the hose above the engine, placed a funnel in the pipe and back fed the pump with more oil,
if it dont work this time its going to be engine out and see WTF is wrong,
oil started seeping from the oil gauge fitting, refitted pipe, along with the bung ,
Cranked her over nowt, WTF is going on with this ferking engine
thought we would try once more before we would have to decide to take the engine out for a look, turned the key and up she came, over half way on the gauge cranking over on the key with 15w/40 oil
So we now have oil pressure,
time to sort the fuel out and prime the system,
filled the tank up with the fuel we drained from the car when we started the rebuild (£30 SUL),
turned ignition on, pump buzzed, which was a good sign as it means i wired the ecu right
then as it came up to pressure the pump struggled and pop went the fuse,
thought how strange,
changed the fuse and tried again, bang it went again,
tried another fuse and thought i'll see what the pressure gauge is doing went the pump fires up before the fuse blows,
and nowt, i thought here we go again a gauge with no pressure ,
checked pump, all fine, and guess what i had done
got the flow and return pipes on the regulator the wrong way round
sorted that out and it didnt blow a fuse anymore and we had a fuel pressure on the gauge,
at least it tested the fuel fittings and fuel line from Torque.co.uk and it didnt leak
Turned her over on the key before we left tonight to be safe. (been stood 45mins)
couple secs and up over half way on the gauge,
So fingers crossed by Tuesday night it could be running capri,
