I am now reduced to jobs that dont actually need doing lol! I find myself in the odd position of having 9 days before I am due to take the car out for its shakedown and having a fully working vehicle! It is so bad that my main job for today is to get some fluffy dice!!!

I think your build is in a different league to mine! I found a few more jobs yesterday (after purchasing the fluffy dice!) Still nothing major, but I need a new coil (should be here Tuesday) and I decided to fit some radiator fans........done bar the switch from parts I had lying around in the garage! Had some overheating issues yesterday, but I am not sure it is not because I drained and refilled the system with a 50/50 coolant/water mix.........needs bleeding again I think!

Going to put an indicator light on the dash today for the nitrous heater and probably a covered switch for the nitrous.

Found out today that I have a severe lack of grip on the back wheels, was doing some final checks and decided to do a couple of test launches. It all went a bit squiffy and was all over the drive  Wasn't until I got out that I realised in my excitement I had forgotten to take the cling film off the rear tyres!!!!

It was on there to aid the tyre softening process........oooops!!!

Jobs left to do..............

Fit new ignition coil when it arrives
Apply some more stickers..................
Fit water temperature sender when it arrives
Fit a BIG fuse to the radiator fan circuit - kept blowing 20A ones!!
Source a passenger side wing mirror (not essential)
Clean and polish (cleaned it today, so this isn't really essential)
Buy some spare underwear

A 35A fuse  sorted the radiator fan circuit, and I have applied the final stickers, not sponsors but local companies that have helped me out sourcing parts...............the job list is running very low!

I am ready for York

Fitted a bicycle speedo today and found that at idle the rear wheels are doing 25mph!! Looks like the whole 1/4 will be done in 1st!!!!

I am sure I have calibrated it correctly.........oh well we will see on Sunday!

Bleuuuurgghhhhh! The Capri was plauged by problems all day! Some reasonable 1/8 mile times for a shakedown, but the 1/4 were appaling! Only picked up 3mph in the last 1/8 mile!!! No nitrous used as the engine wasn't revving past 4000 and the gearbox was changing up really early! I was in 3rd long before the 1/8 mile.

Best run was a 16.557 (pooooooor, but better than the 19.378 I posted on my first run!!!!!)

2.573 60ft
10.466 1/8
67.61 1/8
16.557 1/4
70.41 1/4

It was a pb though!! ;)

Anyone want to buy my project? The engine is in bits and needs a rebuild after a couple of spun bearings.

Or you could buy the car without the engine and drop in a V8 of your choice to bolt up to the TH400 box.

I have some health issues that prevent any further work at this time and it seems a waste sat in my garage.................

oh shit,
sorry to hear that mate,
i'll put the word around,

have you tried advertising it on the v8 forum?
(p.s you will need a price on it if you put it in the classifieds there as it will get removed if there aint one)

Price........haven't got a clue!! At the moment I may well be better stripping all the goodies off it and weighing in the shell!

Iwill never recoup my costs, but that is not really what it is all about is it!

Just a standard one I am afraid, with copius amounts of weld locking it up!
