peugot electric powersteering conversion

Post by Janspeedcapri »

I have the std powersteering all 2.8 do but its a bit leeky and knotchy and the assistance is pretty week at parking speed - so, I want this lightweight, clean, simple electric setup i hear new cars have, and no shit looking p/s pump too.

Seem to remember someone (god know who when or where) saying you could fit the powersteering rack and electric drive from a small peugot, possibly a 106, into a capri quite easily. Has anyone done this or the like?

Think you need to change the rack first.

Theres not much in the pump to go wrong - certainly not the problems you describe.

the mk 2 escort rally cars use the corsa system without changing the rack.it also has adjustable sensitivity.not sure about capri applications though as it uses a considerable amount of under dash space.
