Oil filler sending out steam, some white deposits

I have rebuilt the heads 2.8i, after lots of restarting probs
(Turned out to be the warm up reg and bad spark plugs)
I have timed the engine and it runs fine
A bit tappet but I have not done the final head torque yet and adjust.
On removable of the oil filler cap there is some white deposit
and lots of what looks like steam coming out.
The exhaust on the right side is twice as fierce and steamy.
I have taken the rockers etc for the final torque
Will this stop the head leak that I guess it is, on the right bank?
Or is it the engine being to worn as there was some bore wear.
Thanks
James

steam and white deposits usually indicate a head gasket, a head or possible block problem.
is the car over heating?
whats the oil like on the dip stick? is it creamy or normal?
is the water ok? or has it got an oil film?
If the engine has been rebuilt, and is not over heating have you tried it on a run yet? as my v8 gets a some white deposits if used on short journeys as the engine dont warm up enough and it dont burn off any moisture, but after a long run she is back to normal.

No it has been sitting on the drive since the build
The engine came with one head with torox bolts and the bank I think is leaking has bolts not torox.
Do not know why, I guess the head had been cleaned as it was loads better than the left the head gasket was baked on.
would the bolt toque be a different setting, do the later v6, xr4i come with head bolts not torox.
Do I need to put torox bolts on?
Oil is fine no white deposits water is the same.

i think the torx settings and bolt settings are different,
you need to decide what you want to use and then buy the other matching set mate,

Do you know the touqe settings for the bolts
My spare engine is a 4x4 and it has bolts so I guess I need the sierra settings

Got the car through it MOT today
Used the gunson co tester (never let me down when I last had one)
The head bolts I found via a manual is the same as the capri
But I still am getting some steam out of filler neck and a lot out of the right bank exhaust.
I have yet to Tax the car as I do not have the v5 so can not say more about the problem ,but I can say it will take off when asked

hi, if there is a head gasket, head or block problem(i.e warped/cracked), would you not expect poor performance? Im having similar symptoms and it drives fine! cheers

Had the heads skimmed left bank had some deposits of white on removal
