Hi all,

Having finally managed to persuade my wife to let me have a capri, I am now the proud owner of an '87 2.8i Special. All is great except when I bought it I was told a bulb had gone for the O/S rear light. After replacing the bulb with no success, I have found thet the fuse is blown. Everytime I put an 8amp fuse in it blows immediately. Would you suggest a new bulb holder, an 8mm bolt or maybe something else??

Hope someone can advise.
Thanks
Ade

does it blow straight away with out the lights on?
also remove the said rear light and see if it blows then, if not check to see if the cluster is earthing out on the body, i had this and i tank taped the back of both clusters to stop it happening again.

Hi,

It blows as soon as I turn the lights on. I haven't tried with new fuse, no bulb then turning the lights on. I will try that tomorrow. Thanks for your help.

i had a light cluster that had broken on the back where the mounting bolts fixed through,
and when you pushed a bulb in the holder the tabs on the cluster touched the body and arc out,
