no charge

battery holds no charge in my 2.0laser. Recharged it but after 2 days its totally flat. How do i go about testing the alternator and the bushings?

have you had the battery tested?
i had this problem a few weeks back, turned out to be a dead battery,
if you put a test meter on the battery while the engine is running it should read around 13-14 volts.

its happened to wo different batterys in the space of about 2 weeks. the batterys fully flat now but ill jump it at the weekend and see. recently theres been a squeaking/squealing sound, maybe its the belt? ill have a full check at the weekend. if it does end up being the alt. how much do the go for?

new ones from around £40-£60
is the battery light staying on while engine is running? that would indicate a alternator problem,
have you done anything to the car prior to the battery problem?

the battery light flashes on startup but thats all.
prior to the problem itran out of petrol on the A12, and had to have the hazzards on for about an hour, along with headlights. Started to get troubles after that.
