Indicators

Post by Insane Eddie »

Hi there,
I have seen many Capri?s with the indicators mounted in the main beam light cluster and wanted to do the same to mine. The only problem is I don?t even know were to start? Does anybody out there know how this is done or has done it themselves?
Any information would be gratefully received.

Cheers Eddie 8)

Hi Eddie, i thought about doing the exact same thing mate but got told by the MOT people that it wouldn't be legal. My thinking was that modern cars have the indicators in the main light cluster, so i asked for an explanation.... Aparently the indicator can be behind the same lens as the other lights, as on modern cars, BUT it needs its own reflector bowl. If it's just put in the headlight bowl (by drilling a hole for the bulb, or sacrificing the pilot bulb for an amber one and swapping the wiring) it will not be visible enough when the lights are on.
In the end i used some clear side repeaters off a ford focus ( the funky triangular ones) and mounted them on the front. It looks good!
Hope this helps,
Keith
