Hi all,
I have been given an electric fan to try and sort the overheating probs in traffic. I have managed to get the plastic blades off the viscous fan but can't get the midddle bit off the shaft. It just spins independently of everything else. I've removed a coil type spring from the middle thinking it would reveal something but nothing. Does anyone know how to get it off so I just have the pulley left to drive water pump?
Viscous fan removal...Help!

Managed to get it off . ended up clamping the pulley with mole grips. (it also helped no end knowing it was left hand thread cheers peeps)Put the metro fan in top left hand corner of rad and boy does it shift some air. Strangely though, concidering it moves 10 times more air than the viscous fan, it will only hold the temp at what it was when you switch it on. It can't actually lower the temp. Interesting experiment though, you just have to keep a close eye on the gauge.
