Hi, it is a left handed thread. You will need a thin spanner to fit the nut behind the unit. I think the last time I did one I held the viscous coupling by wedging a large screwdriver against the bolt heads/threads.

One way to get the bearings off is to use an angle grinder. Cut the bearing cage off and gind the bearing race till it is quite thin. A good whack with a chisel should crack the race and it should come off.

You could also look at trying a differant pump. You may find for some reason it has a high resistance. Check the pump connections and any earth conections.

Hi, I see your point. Could you not get the Sierra lsd and sell it on for a Cosworth then put that money toward a Capri lsd.

Personally I would used the fixed roll top, top mounts. There really is not any need to start changing the suspension geometry for road use. Plus you will save yourself a few quid.

Hi, you could do this with a hell of a lot of work. The diff itself will not fit into the Capri axle. You would need to basically convert the Capri floorpan to match the Sierra floating axle with coil springs. Why would you want to do this as the normal setup with leaf springs is quite adequate.

Hi, the benifits of the adjustable ones are they are adjustable. Not much use for everyday road use but great for setting up your suspension setup on the race track.

I see what you are getting at with that picture. However for road use you will need to sort out some kind of silencer. I see the TVR is turbo charged as well this takes away a lot of the noise. A friend of mine once showed me his cosworth engine running with no down pipe fitted (you could see the tu...

I am curious as to why you need to run it through the inner wing?
I have a side exit exhaust on my Mk1 Escort which comes out just in front of the o/s rear wheel. It runs in the original position upto roughly behind the drivers door then branches out to just infront of the wheel. Sounds great.

Hi, I have done this on both my Mk1 Escort and my two Capris. It was Sierra ones I used from the front. You will need to cut them to fit but they are easy to cut with tinsnips. Where the hole is in the top of the shield where the shock goes through, you will need to cut from each side of that hole v...

2.8i Cam jounal sizes.

Hi, can anyone tell me about the cam journal sizes in the 2.8i engine. Burtons list two sizes for different size bearings. Are all the blocks the same but with interchangable cam bearings? If not which is the more common size?

Still using the old GTX in my engines. Never had a problem and engines are always nice and clean when ever I have rebuilt one. Cooked a pinto engine twice using this oil, once when the rad water froze and second when the thermostat failed shut. Fixed the faults and replaced the oil for new and that ...

Hi, You can adjust the door hinges. The bolts are behind the front plastic kick panels in the A pillar. The holes the hinges fit through are quite large so there should be plenty of adjustment. Best to semi tighten the bolts shut the door and use the opposite door to get in and out of the car. Rig u...
