It's not going to make any real difference to most people but at least
we now know that one is true.

Don't surpose you could find the BOA and BOB cams and compare them?

Anything other than original 3 litre will be fine. Don't assume 2.8 is the way to go - it's not. It's likely that you will end up with worn out 2.8 struts which are a problem to sort out. If you go with 1.6 or 2.0 struts, they will be worn too but changing the inserts means everthing that wears is r...

Thanks for the reply. I upgraded the front strutts cos I have fitted a 3litre essex. I think ive sussed the problem anyway. The 3 litre hubs come in two sections, a spacer in which the discs mount onto. The hubs I bought off ebay were missing this spacer, so now im stuck. Anyone got a pair of 3 litre...

Re: 2.8 FRONT BRAKE CONVERSION

Hi all, need some advise on converting the front brakes on my capri. Origionally a 2ltr laser, fitted 3ltr front strutts & hubs. Purchased a pair of 2.8 vented discs, which I had to have the centres bored out (about 1.5mm.)as they wouldnt fit the hubs. Purchased the conversion kit for the calipers ...

The genuine version is a 2 part thing that fixes around the vents.

It does not block them.

Can you trim the moulding to achieve this?

Based on the block being taller, I would say its all 2 litre dimensions.

Check out a 2 litre down pipe or manifold.

Even the correct original X pack wheels don't fit. You will need spacers which is not a problem if you do it properly. The way to do it is to have them made so you retain the centre location for the wheel. Escort Cossy is the way to go - we used 225/40 Toyo Proxes T1-R's We've never had a Capri with...

No they don't fit. It's not just about the 3 ports - 2 of the cylinders are back to back on the 2.8. They are all the same way round on the 2.9. The cam lobes will be in the wrong order. Think the good bits you have in the 2.8 boat anchor will fit in the 2.9 block. That's the way to go if it works. ...
