Silly dash board light question.
I feel like a plonker but i need to ask, the warning light on the right (not the handbrake one) what is it? Mine doesn't work and i'm fairly sure its a charging light but can't remember. If it is a charging light then i'm wondering if it has anything to do with a drain i have which only goes when i ...

Can you get a picture of the diff itself? As far as i know any lsd won't let the wheels turn in opposite directions unless the atb gear type ones are like this under light loads. Try locking one halfshaft so it can't turn and turn the other forwards and see what happens. Another thing, the escort, w...

A holley 4 barrel is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too big for a wee 2.8. You'll get more problems trying to get that to work than repairing your injection system. The 2.8 injection system is normally quite good and is obviously well set up for the 2.8 you have. It'll use less fuel, cost less to fix and requir...

Errr a white board marker! I coloured in the teeth with a white board marker and gave it a spin, all seemed well (according to my secret weapon) plus the bearing play and backlash were all good so hopefully its ok. When its back on the road i'll take it for a short drive to assess it and if there's ...

I doubt you would lose any top end as it'll just reach a higher max rpm in fifth (which is an very long overdrive type gear don't forget). Have a search around for a recent copy of retro ford mag as they did a before and after 2.8 to 2.0 axle swap with before and after performance figures and the re...

The 2.0 axle ratio gives better acceleration which is much more useful in the real world. The reason i'm changing is that i worked out that my v8 is theoretically geared to do 178mph which of course it'll never reach so by swapping to the 2.0 ratio i have a theoretical top speed of 150+ (if it can r...

Errrr just spoke to one of my old work buddies at a Ford dealer. He's set up ALOT of these axles should the mesh need adjusting and well, it aint easy and thats a massive understatment! Do-able if you have the correct tools and alot of patience! I'm really really hoping mine comes out ok when i stic...
