Ok I'm uncertain on this 2.9 EFI conversion already. Can anyone tell me what cars have this engine? I noticed 96 and 97 scorpios have a 2.9 12valve so was gonna find one of those as they're pretty cheap now and at only 10yrs old there's some good example out there. Is that the engine I want or do I ...

Fantastic

That's kinda what I wanted to hear as I've reached the same conclusion myself.

I've found an MT75 and custom prop, a replacement diff and am working on the 2.9EFi

I'll no doubt keep you updated by default, cos as soon as I get the bits I'll be stuck again!!

Cheers

Ok, cheers mate

I actually don't know what cam I have, but I've had a hunt through the website and they all require 0.36Inlet and 0.41Outlet. I've set them to 0.35 and 0.40mm, and I lent towards the loose side anyway so I'll put it back together and see what I've got.

Thanks again

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately that still leaves me a little uncertain about turning the key. It has a kent cam but it was put in before I bought the car so I know nothing about it. I've set the clearences as per haynes now. Is it safe to drive it? If the clearences are too tight for the differ...

Do Unleaded Heads need the same valve clearences?

Hi There I have a 2.8i and it makes a light ticking that changes with engine speed. Numerous people told me to adjust the 'tappets' to sort this out. I took this to mean check and set the valves clearences (please correct me if I'm wrong). I'm setting them this afternoon, as per haynes, but am a bit...

So it is, and my numbers do match. Many thanks. The parts suppliers kept thinking it was a Puma. I presumed this was because Ford used the same letter E to denote both cars but still wanted to check my plate hadn't been changed. Looks fine though.

Cheers

Where are my VIN stamps?

Hi all I have a 2.8 special and want to chack the VIN plate is correct. One thing I want to do is to find some of the stamps on the chassis and check they're the same as the number on the plate but I don't know where to look and am reluctant to start pulling up the carpets if I don't have to. Anyone...
