what started to be just a few minor repairs and touch ups has turned into a full respray , couple more days of prepping and she'l be ready for paint , im in two minds wether to stay with the original daytona yellow or go for a more modern 'richer' yellow, daytona always looks a bit off yellow to me....

ok so just to clarify.... thats 205 50/13 tyres yeah? thats pretty low profile? wouldnt that
look daft if i dont lower the car? would it leave a huge gap between the tyres and arches? if i need to lower it how much would you reccomend? 1 inch? 2 inch?

im thinkin of treatin the capri to some new revolites, what size wheels and tyres should i be looking for , im unsure about lowering the car so i dont want them to look silly if they are low profile tyres, also i obvioulsy dont want them catching anywhere if theyre too wide.. so all in all im lookin...

slight misfire, help needed.

my car is a 1973 MK1 1600XL pinto, i have a slight misfire on tickover (when it does eventually tickover), above tickover it runs smooth, its as if its ticking over on 3 and half cylinders, i have replaced plugs, leads, rotor arm , air filter and points but its made no difference at all. any suggest...

does anyone know if the 1300cc backbox is the same shape as the 1600 pinto one?
reason i ask is i cant get one for my 16XL but i can gat one for the 1300, on photo it looks identical , i know the pipe diameter is possibly smaller but i can overcome that ..

ive been offered a capri mk1 1300cc backbox, looks the same as my mk1 1600 backbox but is it? the part no on the 1300 one is FD394, i dunno the part no for 1600 backbox , anyone help ?

easy way to tell??

is there an easy way to tell if the headgaskets leaking on my 1600 pinto, i just get the feeling its gone but in actual fact ive no idea if it has :roll:

unleaded ?

are the pinto engines already designed to take unleaded fuel or should i have the head done, although i have done approx 20,000 miles on unleaded fuel with no probs.
everyone i ask seems to have a different opinion on this so does anyone actually know for definate?
